How do you get in contact with your local tax office?

I am due for a tax rebate and want to book an appt but dont know the number for the local tax office. I’ve tried looking on the web (yell.com/bt.com/google searching etc etc etc but I just cant find the number anywhere) ggggrrrrrrrr!

You need to know which tax office your based with, use the link below, it takes you to the HM revenues and customs website. You’ll need your employer reference found on your payslip or p60.

The websie is hmrc.goc.uk – or something like that – it should have listed the tax offices and you can find out yours that way or call the main number and use your PAYE reference (on your payslip or P45/ P60) to find out which tax office has been allocated to you!

It doesn’t follow that your local tax office handles your tax affairs. You need to find out where your tax office is from your employer. I assume you have an employer otherwise why would you be paying tax. If you were self-employed you’d know where your tax office was. You probably won’t need to go and see them. If you’re due a rebate, they’ll be able to work it out. You can try the HMRC website but I’d ask your employer.

    1. Look on your payslip, sometimes their info is on there. If not, ask whoever is in charge of wages in your workplace.

    2. HRMC Site.

    If all else fails,

    3. In the Yellow pages, look for your local HMRC [HM Revenue & Customs] office.
^^ They wouldn’t be able to help you unless you take some form of ID i.e. Passport…. Ask if you phone them to be sure.

On your P60 there should be a 3 digit code before your PAYE reference number like this: xxx/xxxxxx

input this 3 digit number into the second box of this website:

    to find your tax office.
