There is this guy who does table tennis action photos for ctta. he charges 10$ per photo. I think that you can move to the next level and partner with sport federations (centers, clubs, competitions) ... offer them to post your pictures on their sites .. its beneficial for any sport related website because people love to see pictures of themselves or someone they know caught in action... and it is beneficial for you, of course.
Have a good one.
References :
table-tennis action photos at: http://www.ttcan.ca/photos/

At our local school track and football fields, the local businesses put up banners along the fence. I say, check with the school administration and see about that.

Also, what about sponsoring a little league team??

Any racing enthusiasts close to your town??? Maybe you could branch out to other sports venues.

Enter photo contests??? Sponsor a photo contest?

Host a charitable function... walk-a-thon or whatever... get your name in the paper, build a reputation as a caring company.

Get involved with the local Special Olympics folks?
References :
First do a market survey on your current repeat customers. Find out why they come to you. Reward them for doing this by offering a 10% discount on their next purchase. Then design a general advertisement that focuses on the positive responses from the survey. These too should include a discount offer and should serve as the template for all of your major advertisments; newspapers, postcards, business cards, etc. Then invest about $400-$900 for a list of residents in your area based on its demographics. Use this list to send direct mail advertising your service. Another lower cost method is to design a referral program for your current customers. If you want some more info on this or other methods just email me at dwilso28@yahoo. I am looking to become a marketing consultant for small businesses and would appreciate the opportunity.
References :
Reach out with your ads. Then again, that could be a risk. You could go for some not-so-local newspapers, but only as far as you'd be willing to travel. Building a business is a gradual process, though. There's no get-rich-quick twist involved. If you want to get bigger, you have to take some risks.

My friend was in the same business, but expanded his skills first by shooting at this dirt track for cars... then again by shooting at a dirt track for dirtbikes. Of course, he's still that nice guy who'll do a professional skateboard shot for... not too much.

Of course, to do it to the extent he's doing, you have to sacrifice time to travel to some far away sporting events. In his case, he even went to the X Games to photograph for a player there.

You may not need to go that far, but introduce some fresh ideas. It should do you well. =)
References :
Have you considered greeting cards?

I know it may sound strange, but Joe Girard was the Guniess book of World Records salesman for 12 years. One of his secrets was to send a greeting card to all of his customers every month. His business grew so much that people would make appointments to buy a car from him.

I work for a company called Send Out Cards. They offer a service where you can send real greeting cards on-line. You simply select from one of the 8,000+ cards, enter a personal message and their address. The card is printed, placed in an envelope and mailed.

You can also setup a campaign so that people get a card from you whenever you want (i.e. birthdays, anniversary, etc.).

Contact me if you'd like a free on-line demonstration. I give you a gift account which will allow you to send a couple of cards for free to see just how easy it is to show your customers that you care.
