  • My Website hosting company wants to terminate our contract.?

Posted by admin on November 21st, 2008 and filed under Local SEO | 2 Comments »

I signed up with a local website company to design and host my new ecommerce website. In the contract it states they would manage it, update, market, and give me email accounts. I choose the option they gave me to be somewhat partners to absorb the cost of the website. In return I needed to pay then 15% of my sales until a certain amount was obtained then it would go down to 5%.
Since my website opened in 07 (and paying my 3500), I fought with them to get it online. It went up in May 07 but still needed a bunch of changes to the look. As months went by, they put me on the backburner and did not complete my web design nor helped with marketing, SEO and etc. Now since my website has not made much or any money he wants to terminate the contract we signed. Although I paid ofr my SSL renewal he has not rewnewed it on my website and now it gives an error to my potential customers.
Can he do this? Is he bound to fulfill his 3 year contract? Please Help.

They cannot just cancel the contract unless it is so stated in the contract (and I'd bet that it is)

It sounds like you were ripped off from the word go. -is that $3500 you paid?(not yen?) Do you get any of that money back?

my ecommerce website was designed by samwilson3d.com
    go to http://www.samwilson3d.com
there is a list of recommended ecommerce hosts there for under $6 per month; domain name is included and they all offer a file manager for easy upload These are probably some of the best offers on the web

also, they only charged me $375 to design my website:
http://www.simplycharmin.com and that seems very reasonable compaired to other quotes I received

A web hosting service is meant to help you not ruin you. Why continue with so much stress around — it's bad for productivity. Move to a "real" company. A lot of cheap ones offer very good service. Go with an established brand like GoDaddy, Yahoo or HostGator.
